Study: Milk consumption down in U.S.

Apparently a lot fewer people are drinking milk these days, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

Citing U.S. Department of Agriculture data, it reports milk consumption in the country has plunged nearly 30 percent since 1975.

Meanwhile, sales of yogurt, cheese and other dairy products have gone up.

One theory is that the cost of milk has steadily increased.

Another is that busy families want to buy smaller bottles of milk so that it will not spoil if they aren’t home to drink it.
