AFRICA– More than 140 militants fighting on behalf of Boko Haram were killed in a clash against Cameroonian military, Cameroon’s government said Tuesday.

“It is by far the heaviest toll sustained by the criminal sect Boko Haram since it began launching its barbaric attacks against our land, people and goods,” Cameroonian Information Minister Issa Tchiroma Bakary said in a statement on television.

The fight that took the lives of so many Boko Haram militants took place after they attacked a Cameroonian military camp in Kolofata on Monday.

One Cameroonian died in the camp attack, and 4 others were injured.
