LEXINGTON, Okla. – A community is mourning the death of an Oklahoma teenager after a car accident on Sunday.

Authorities were called to the intersection of 72nd St. and Maguire Rd. on Sunday evening after two vehicles collided.

According to investigators, an SUV failed to stop at the intersection and collided with a church van.

The SUV rolled twice and ejected the 16-year-old driver and  17-year-old Morgan Smith.

The Maguire Baptist Church van ran off the road, hit a utility pole and flipped onto its roof.

Smith was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

A passenger in the church van, 71-year-old Janice Fogle, was rushed to a local hospital and was admitted into intensive care.

The wreck is still under investigation by the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office.
