FLORIDA – A Florida water management crew stumbles upon an 18 foot, 150 pound python near the Everglades.

Despite the snakes size – it’s not the largest on record in the sunshine state.

That distinction goes to an 18 foot, 8 inch Python found in 2013.

The giant snake was shot and killed, according to reports.

The snake is now headed to the University of Florida where it will be studied.
