JOHNSTON CO., Okla. – The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office says they have arrested the parents of a 2-month-old baby for child abuse and murder after the boy was found unresponsive and flown to an Oklahoma City ICU where he later died.

Deputies say they were called to Mercy hospital in Tishomingo after an unresponsive two-month-old boy was brought in.

“The infant was displaying signs of abuse,” said the sheriff’s office.

Undersheriff Gary Dodd conducted interviews with the mother, Lindsay Wolff, and father, Christopher Hairell as well as hospital staff caring for the child.

Officials then arrested Wolff and Hairell on Child Abuse and Domestic Violence in the presence of a minor child “based upon the severe injuries, which obviously resulted from abuse and/or neglect, and interviews conducted.”

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office gave a heartbreaking update Sunday.

“It is with heavy hearts we update this story. Kylin, passed away last night due to the injuries he sustained. He had loving extended family with him and they still deserve and appreciated our prayers.
We here at the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office will do everything in our power to get justice for this innocent little boy and a community, which also grieves.

The charges have been amended to Murder and will be presented to the District Attorney Office, Monday morning.”

Both Wolff and Hairell were transported to the Johnston County Jail, where they both remain. Bond is unclear at this time.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office had this to say:

“Folks, this little boy could use some prayers and so could the other family members who are left dealing with this horrible act.
This is not a community, which will tolerate this and this is a Sheriff’s Office, which will do everything in our power to bring to justice someone who hurts our most precious and innocent citizens…
Love your children, cherish them, don’t hurt them, or we will hunt you down.”
