Michael Buelna was responding to stabbing call in 1989 when he inadvertently found a newborn baby that had been abandoned behind a dumpster in an alley near the crime scene.

The officer picked up the barely-breathing baby and rushed him to a nearby paramedic for help.

The abandoned boy, dubbed “Baby Adam” is now a 25-year-old man named Robin Barton.

On Friday, Barton and his adoptive parents met with the retired officer at police headquarters in Santa Ana.
