3.6 magnitude earthquake wakes residents across the metro

CHOCTAW, Okla. – Some residents in the metro might have been shaken early Tuesday morning.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 3.6 magnitude earthquake was recorded about three miles northeast of Choctaw.

The earthquake hit the area around 2:30 a.m. but was not the only tremor felt in the state.

Around 9 a.m., a 2.9 magnitude earthquake hit the area around Jones.

So far, there are no reports of damage or injuries.
