WEST FORK, Ark.- An Arkansas daycare is being investigated after police say a 3-year-old girl was left alone in a van for four hours.
Officials say the girl was left behind in the van at Growing God’s Kingdom, owned by State Rep. Justin Harris.
Bus drivers are required to walk to the back of the bus to turn off an alarm when the vehicle is parked.
“There must have been something done that wasn’t right,” he said.
Harris says the daycare is investigating the incident, but will now implement a double-check procedure.
“We’re looking for any sort of abuse, neglect or endangerment that this child was placed in,” said Chief Bryan Watts, with the West Fork Police Department. “There’s still a lot of questions that we have. There’s still individuals that we need to speak to regarding what happened yesterday.”
Paramedics say the child was not injured.
According to DHS, the bus driver has been fired.
