4-year-old boy drowns while at Turner Falls Park

DAVIS, Okla. – The holiday weekend took a tragic turn for a one family enjoying a day on the water.

On Sunday evening, officers rushed to Turner Falls Park after family members reported that a 4-year-old boy was missing.

The child was eventually found by life guards near the diving boards of the Blue Hole Swimming area.

The boy was rushed to a nearby hospital but was later taken to Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Authorities say he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

Officials say they plan to implement new rules that would require children under the age of 12 to wear a life jacket while in the water.
