ECTOR COUNTY, Texas – Family members say a 4-year-old girl may be paralyzed after being overlooked following a crash.
Investigators say Daniela Flores was injured after the man driving the vehicle she was in rear-ended one car and sideswiped another.
The driver of the car, Ever Ortega, told officers multiple times that there were no other passengers inside his car.
According to KCBD, the back doors of the car were jammed shut, so rescue crews looked through the window and through the front to see if anyone else was inside.
However, they had no idea Flores was lying on the floorboard unconscious.
She was found three hours later when a tow truck driver noticed a car seat in the back and decided to take a closer look.
Ortega was charged with felony intoxication assault-bodily injury.
