SAN ANTONIO — An actor known for playing villains on the screen was arrested early Sunday morning.
Manu Bennett, who antagonized Bilbo Baggins in “The Hobbit” trilogy and Slade Wilson in “Arrow,” was charged with misdemeanor assault in San Antonio, Texas.
Bennett was a guest at the Alamo City Comic Con over the weekend. He was released just before 1 p.m. Sunday.
Bennett portrayed Azog in the recent “Hobbit” films via motion capture.
He was also the main villain, Deathstroke, in the second season of the hit TV series “Arrow.”
CNN reached out to Bennett’s publicist and lawyers but had not received a comment by Monday evening.
