QUEVEDO, Ecuador – Photos of an adorable sloth are going viral after a touching rescue.

Transit police in Ecuador say they spotted the sloth clinging to the guardrail in the center of a highway, so they stopped to check it out.

The sloth was taken to a veterinarian who determined the little guy was okay, just scared. Officers then brought him back to his habitat.

The photos, which were posted on Facebook by the Transit Authority, were shared over 19,000 times.

According to WABC, the executive director of the Ecuardor Transit Commission gave an order that all animals found on streets and highways have to be immediately attended to.

These photos were taken after the sloth was returned to the jungle.
