OKLAHOMA CITY – After neighbors intervened to stop a burglary, police said the suspects returned and shot at them.

No one was at the targeted home near S.E. 33rd St. and Byers Ave., but police said the people living nearby saw the burglary in process and stepped in to try to stop it.

The suspects drove off in a black Mustang with front-end damage, but police said they returned and fired at the crowd of people who had gathered in front of the house.

No one was hit by the gunfire.

Police told NewsChannel 4 the neighbors then threw bricks at another suspect’s parked car as retaliation.

Officers are still looking for that Mustang and the 3 to 5 men associated with the burglary.
