NORMAN, Okla. – It’s been almost a week since 39 animals were rescued from a Norman home. Now, several are available for adoption.
According to animal shelter officials, 14 animals are now adoptable. That breaks down to eight cats and six dogs.
At least two cats have been shaved, and two poodles required pretty extensive sheering.
In fact, the two poodles lost close to two pounds of fur each.
Kristy McGowen, with Central Oklahoma Boarding and Grooming, said their grooming took close to eight hours.
“It was probably the worst I’ve ever seen,” McGowen said. “I went through probably eight different blades.”
One of the poodles, who goes by ‘Little Miss Muppet,’ is on hold to be adopted.
The other, named Tara, is still available.
“I think she would just make a wonderful pet for someone,” McGowen said.
Anyone interested in adopting the animals should contact Norman Animal Welfare.
Police said the investigation is ongoing, and no criminal charges have been filed yet.
