OKLAHOMA CITY - An arrest was made Saturday afternoon in the murder of a metro teen.

The victim, Valanesha Washington, was killed in a drive-by shooting.

Witnesses say the 19-year-old was sitting in her bedroom when someone sprayed her home with bullets.

Police tell us 18-year-old Daryan Jones is responsible for her murder.

Word of the man's arrest came as friends and family gathered at a Midwest City Park for a candlelight vigil.

Many of the people in attendance made cries to stop the violence, more than one hundred people gathered to remember "Nesha" as they called her.

"It's unreal, yeah it feels like a dream," friends said about Washington's death.

"I know everyone has to go, but she didn't leave on her time, someone else took the initiative to take her life," Tavi Skanes, another friend said.

Tears and memories filled the air, while candles burned to represent her luminous life.

"She was a joyful person, she always told you how much she cared about you," Ronnie Davis, Washington's nephew said.

"It was just always fun to be around her, you could never be sad around Valanesha, she would always keep a smile on your face," another friend Rae'ven Holliman said.

A smile that went dark New Year's Day, allegedly at the hands of 18-year-oldDaryan Jones.

Valanesha will live on, through memories as they fade into the heavens.

"We love you, I love you Nesha, please watch over us all," her friends said.
