Astronaut Terry Virts had an amazing front-row seat to last night’s return of the Aurora Borealis.

The celestial show formed from a massive solar storm Tuesday, the strongest in over eight years.

More people than ever have had the opportunity to see the spectacular space phenomenon because of the storm.

The Southern Lights, or Aurora Australis, have also been unusually bright, according to the BBC.
