Athletes flock to OKC for Redman Triathlon

OKLAHOMA CITY– Athletes from all over the world traveled to Oklahoma City to compete in the Redman Triathlon this weekend.

Participants gathered at Lake Hefner for the official start of the competition.

The triathletes competed in either the full distance race, the half distance or the aquabike event.

Those who decided to test their skills on the full distance course were required to swim 2.4 miles, bike for 112 miles and then run a full marathon before crossing the finish line.

NewsChannel 4’s Emily Sutton competed in the half distance challenge, which consisted of swimming 1.2 miles, biking 56 miles and running a half marathon.

She finished the race in 6 hours and 6 minutes.
