Attempted home invasion leaves one man in the hospital

MOUNTAIN PARK, Okla. – One man is in the hospital after an attempted home invasion.

Authorities say a homeowner was awakened by a knock at his door Tuesday evening.

According to reports, when the homeowner opened the door, a man struck him with a large metal pipe.

The homeowner then allegedly shot the man several times with a small caliber handgun.

The shooting victim then went to home and called the sheriff’s office about being shot.

He was then flown to an Oklahoma City hospital with possible life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say the Kiowa County Sheriff’s Office has requested the OSBI investigative and crime scene agents work the case.

No arrests have been made at this time.
