OKLAHOMA CITY – Authorities are investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting along the city’s southwest side.

Around 1 a.m. on Monday, Oklahoma City police were called to a convenience store near S.W. 29th St. and Meridian Ave. after witnesses said a man was harassing customers.

When the alleged suspect saw the officer at the scene, he fled from the scene and the officer began chasing the suspect.

According to officials, the alleged suspect turned around and pointed a gun at the officer.

Authorities said the officer fired at the suspect, killing him.

Investigators say they do not know why the man ran from officers in the first place.  The officer who shot the man has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation into the shooting continues.
