Authorities investigating after woman’s body discovered in burned home

LITTLE AXE, Okla. – Authorities are investigating after a woman’s body was discovered in a burned home Monday night.

Around 8:20 p.m. Monday, Norman and Little Axe firefighters were called to a mobile home fire in the 16400 block of Carnegie Circle, near Newalla.

Officials say fire crews were working to extinguish the fire when they discovered the body inside the home.

The woman’s body has since been transferred to the State Medical Examiner’s Office.

They will identify the remains and conclude both the cause and manner of death.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office will determine the fire’s origin and how it started.
