Authorities investigating suspicious package in downtown Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY – Authorities are investigating a suspicious package that was found in downtown Oklahoma City.

Around 11 a.m., officials with the Oklahoma City Police Department learned that a suspicious package had been found near the police headquarters building, near Lee and Main.

The bomb squad has been called to investigate the item.

Several buildings in the area are taking measures as a precaution.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area as the investigation continues.
