OKLAHOMA CITY -Authorities have captured an inmate who escaped from the Oklahoma County Jail.
Police say Kunta Kenta Griffith was arrested Saturday for municipal warrants.
Sunday evening, Griffith was able to escape from his holding cell.
Around 6:30 p.m., the jail reportedly released the people who are serving their sentences on the weekends.
While these inmates were leaving, Griffith walked out with them.
Before being arrested, Griffith was on probation for possession of an imitation firearm.
He was taken into custody late Tuesday by members of the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Warrant Team.
The events leading up to his escape are under investigation by the sheriff’s department.
