BRIDGE CREEK, Okla. – A nine-week-old bald eagle is recovering after being injured in the tornado that hit Oklahoma May 6th.

Officials at WildCare say the tornado that went through Bridge Creek took down a bald eagle nest.

When a landowner came across the eaglet huddled under a cedar tree, he and the McClain County Game Warden rescued the bird and took it to WildCare.

WildCare officials say the bird has a slight abrasion under one wing, but it appears to be in good health.

The bird will rest at WildCare for the next two days as the storms pass through the state before reuniting with her family.
