CANAKKALE, Turkey – The Turkish Coast Guard rescued a baby that drifted over a half-mile off shore when her parents left her inside an inflatable crib.

Melda, a 10-month-old girl, was saved off Turkey’s West Coast in the Aegean Sea.

Authorities say she floated away in an inflatable crib after her parents forgot she was inside the crib.

Other beach-goers noticed the child floating away and the girl’s parents then alerted the Coast Guard.
