Bank robber tries to lock employees in vault

EDMOND, Okla. — Police are searching for a suspect who attempted to lock bank employees in the vault while he robbed the Edmond IBC Bank on S. Santa Fe early Tuesday morning.

The OSBI said the male suspect hid behind a car with a butcher knife and threatened an employee going into work. 

After the suspect made it inside the bank, he allegedly kicked one employee in the groin and another employee in the face and tried to lock them in the bank vault. 

Authorities said the suspect made off with a bag of coins and is now on the run. 

The OSBI would like to talk with anyone who has any information about this robbery.
