SAGINAW COUNTY, Mich. – “Orange Is the New Black” may be a hit on Netflix, but not with the sheriff in Saginaw County, Michigan.

The orange jumpers that have been the normal prison garb over the years is going away.

The sheriff says spending time in jail is no laughing matter and he does not want inmates to get the wrong idea.

Inmates will switch over to the new black and white stripes by the end of the year.

Saginaw County Sheriff William Federspiel said, “Until there is a new show that’s black and horizontal stripes is the new black, I’m going to this look. If you don’t like the clothes that I give you, don’t return.”

Federspiel says he has his own reality show dealing with the inmates behind bars.

The move to black and white will also save the county about $800.
