OKLAHOMA CITY- You’ve probably heard the term ‘once in a blue moon,’ but astronomers say that you won’t have to wait too long to see one.
A blue moon is scheduled to take over the night’s sky on Tuesday.
However, experts say the moon will not actually be blue.
A “seasonal blue moon” occurs when it is the fourth full moon during a three-month season.
Tuesday’s “seasonal blue moon” is the first in nearly three years.
It is expected to be at its peak at 8:45 p.m.
The other type of ‘blue moon’ occurs when there are two full moons in the same month.
However, that is not expected to happen until 2015.
