BRYAN COUNTY, Okla. – A boat exploded about a half a mile off the shoreline of Lake Texoma this evening.
The blast happened at the Johnson Creek Recreation Area in Bryan County.
The boat’s operator and his 2-year-old son, who were on the boat at the time, were not injured.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol says that the vessel exploded in about 43 ft. of water, throwing the operator and his son into the lake.
They were trying to swim to shore when they were rescued by another boater.
The cause of the blast is under investigation.
