SNYDER, Okla. – The bodies of two elderly men were discovered in an Oklahoma lake after the pair did not return home from a boating trip.

Authorities with the Department of Public Safety say 81-year-old Kenneth Austin and 77-year-old Jerry Austin took a boat out on Lake Tom Steed on Sunday.

When the pair did not return home, family members called the Kiowa County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies immediately began investigation and found that the men’s boat had capsized in five to six feet of water just a quarter of a mile from the main boat ramp.

The men’s bodies were found near the shore in two to three feet of water.
