BODY FOUND: OSBI investigating Grady County man’s death

CHICKASHA, Okla. — Grady County and state authorities are investigating the suspicious death of a Chickasha man who was found outside his family's business by his father Monday morning. Grady CountyvSheriff Art Kell says the victim, 31-year-old Danny Ray Franklin, suffered a gun shot wound.

Franklin works for his father, James, at Franklin Land Survey, which is located behind the family's house, just south of Chickasha on County Road 1383.James found his son at around 10:30 am.Before the tragic discovery, Kell says James thought something was wrong when Danny's dog began acting in a strange manner.Three hours later, he found his son's body on the west side of the office, Kell said. OSBI is now helping with the investigation.No arrests have been made and no suspects have been named.”It's sad,” neighbor Kenneth Hawkins said, who had high praise for the Franklin family. “That's the only thing I can say about it, it's a sad situation.”Kell said they were awaiting a search warrant to enter the business office.  He says something may have happened inside the office that led to the shooting.
