OKLAHOMA CITY – Drivers may need to find an alternate route as officers investigate a suspicious package in southwest Oklahoma City.
On Tuesday afternoon, Oklahoma City police were called to the area of S.W. 44th and S. May Ave. on a suspicious package.
Authorities with the police department say that S. May Ave. has been closed from S.W. 44th St. and to S.W. 52nd St. to ensure the safety of citizens in the area.
Officials say they anticipate being on the scene for several more hours, so drivers may need to find an alternate route home.
S. May between SW 44th and SW 52nd is closed due to the OKCPD Bomb Squad checking a suspicious package. The road may not reopen until after rush hour. We will keep you posted.
