OKLAHOMA CITY –  It was a terrifying morning for some Stroud students when their student activity bus caught fire on the Turner Turnpike near I-35.

Around 9 a.m., the students were on their way to the Oklahoma City Zoo when they heard a “pop.”

One of the passengers told KFOR she got out to check on the noise and she saw one of the back tires on fire.

The bus was immediately evacuated.

All 23 of the students made it off the bus safely.

Fire crews responded to the area and found the activity bus fully engulfed in flames.

After about 30 minutes, firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze.
