Burn pile loses control, spreads 8 acres

SPENCER, Okla. — Crews are working to knock down a grass fire in the 9700 block of NE 55th.

The call came in around 12:04 p.m.

Officials say the grass fire began when a burn pile got out of control.

The fire ended up being about 8-acres wide.

Firefighters worked to protect a house near the fire in the 5500 block of N. Post.

Oklahoma City, Spencer, and Nicoma Park all worked together to put out the blaze.
