Busy road in Norman shut down for possible gas leak

NORMAN, Okla. – Drivers in Norman may need to find an alternate route after a busy road was shut down.

Shortly before 12 p.m. on Wednesday, officials shut down Lindsey St. because of a possible gas leak.

According to the Norman Transcript, a gas line ruptured near Lindsey and Murphy St.

Officials say crews accidentally hit the line with a piece of equipment.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area while crews investigate.
