Americans are known to love their dogs but a new survey shows your playful pooch may make it harder for you to get insurance.
According to Bankrate, if you own a certain breed of dog, you may have a hard time getting homeowner’s insurance.
Officials say some breeds are more likely to bite and cause injuries, which are the ones that are excluded from coverage.
Einhorn Insurance has compiled a list of the 10 breeds that are likely be denied by insurance companies.
The list is as follows:
- Pitbulls and Staffordshire Terriers
- Doberman Pisnchers
- Rottweilers
- Chow Chow
- Great Danes
- Perro De Presa Canario
- Akitas
- Alaskan Malamutes
- German Shepherds
- Siberian Huskies
The company also says wolf hybrids can also be declared dangerous.
