Americans are known to love their dogs but a new survey shows your playful pooch may make it harder for you to get insurance.

According to Bankrate, if you own a certain breed of dog, you may have a hard time getting homeowner’s insurance.

Officials say some breeds are more likely to bite and cause injuries, which are the ones that are excluded from coverage.

Einhorn Insurance has compiled a list of the 10 breeds that are likely be denied by insurance companies.

The list is as follows:

  1. Pitbulls and Staffordshire Terriers
  2. Doberman Pisnchers
  3. Rottweilers
  4. Chow Chow
  5. Great Danes
  6. Perro De Presa Canario
  7. Akitas
  8. Alaskan Malamutes
  9. German Shepherds
  10. Siberian Huskies

The company also says wolf hybrids can also be declared dangerous.
