OKLAHOMA CITY  --  For her eighth birthday, Dave Herrod's daughter received a bicycle.

Ever since, she has been cruising around the neighborhood with her friends... until now.

Like many kids, the now 9-year-old forgot to put her bike inside her family's garage.

On Monday, her family noticed it was gone.

“I started looking on my cameras. Sure enough, I looked at midnight and it was still there in front of the garage,” said Herrod.

Herrod says he kept scrolling through the home surveillance footage.

“Trickled down time wise, 4:02 some guy on a bicycle creeps up, got a flashlight in his mouth. He's got a bin of probably stolen stuff on his handle bars with the weed eater,” said Herrod.

The cameras captured the alleged suspect ride up next to the child's bicycle, but what he did next left the family speechless.

“Pulls up, sees my daughter's bike, takes the weed eater, sits it down, grabs my daughter's bike, puts it on his handlebars and takes off,” Herrod said.

Herrod noticed the alleged thief left the weed eater behind, so he decided to go outside to see if it was still there.

Once outside, he noticed that it had also been taken.

“Two hours later, 6:03 or whatever it was, he had come back with a buddy, pulled up behind the trees where you can kind of be disguised in the dark. It's still dark, [he] comes up and grabs his stolen weed eater, throws it in the back of the truck and wanders off,” Herrod said.

The family can't believe the suspect would go to such great lengths to do something like this to a kid.

“We definitely want the dude caught and I would love to have my daughter's bike back, she's brokenhearted over it,” he said.

The family posted the videos on their social media pages and so far, people have claimed to have seen him still on a bike, with that bin full of items.

If you see the man in the footage, you're urged to call police.
