Richard McMahon was at his house near S.W. 149th and May with his family on Sunday.
“I was expecting the package, because I ordered it via Amazon, and they do deliver on Sunday,” McMahon said.
“So, I immediately went to the security camera system and saw where the gentleman just came up and helped himself to my package,” McMahon said.
The video is crystal clear.
A blue Dodge pickup pulls up in the driveway.
The man walks to the front porch and looks around to see if anyone is watching.
He then picks up the package and calmly puts it inside his jacket.
“In the video, you can see he’s just very nonchalant, just very casual, walks up, takes it, takes his time, looks directly into the camera,” McMahon said.
McMahon immediately posted the video to Facebook and said he already has a lead on a possible suspect.
“A friend of a friend said, 'I recognize the man in your video as being my ex-husband,'” McMahon said.
And, he said the part that makes him most uneasy is that he was at home the whole time.
“I felt violated, just because of the fact that we were home at the time that this happened, the fact that someone would be that brazen to actually approach a house and just not think twice,” McMahon said.
McMahon said Amazon already sent him another one free of charge.
He’s now warning everyone to have packages delivered where someone can sign for them rather than at home.
