CHICKASHA, Okla. — A Chickasha man has been arrested for shooting with intent to kill on Sunday, Nov. 29.
Chickasha Police Officers arrived to the 200 block of S. 8th St. where a man had gone for refuge after he got shot.
Police say the victim had a gunshot wound and was transported to Grady Memorial ER.
While he was at the hospital, the victim told authorities that Jason Rogers was the man who shot him.
Reports say Rogers knocked on the door of a house in the 200 block of S. 8th St. A witness – and acquaintance of Jason Rogers – opened the door.
Once the suspect was inside, the witness said that’s when Rogers pulled a black semiautomatic pistol and fired at the victim.
After a brief standoff in the 800 block of S. 17th St., Rogers was arrested and booked into the Grady County Jail for Shooting with Intent to Kill.
During an interview with officials, Rogers said he “accidentally” shot the victim and that he was “playing around” when he shot the victim.
Rogers said that he thought he shot the victim in the face. No word on where the victim was actually hit.
