Children not seriously injured when pickup truck slams into school bus

CHOCTAW, Okla. – Several parents rushed to the scene of an accident after a pickup truck hit the back of a school bus.

Shortly before 4 p.m., emergency crews were called to an accident involving a school bus in the 16200 block of S.E. 44th St., near Indian Meridian.

Initial reports indicate a pickup truck slammed into the back of the bus carrying students from the Choctaw-Nicoma Park Elementary School.

Fortunately, no kids on the bus were seriously injured.

The condition of the driver of the truck is not known at this time.

Parents rushed to the scene to pick up their children who were on the bus at the time of the accident.

Officials say that area along S.E. 44th St. is closed until the scene is cleared.
