TULSA, Okla. – An Oklahoma man is facing kidnapping, molestation and child abuse charges after he allegedly attacked two young girls at a Tulsa park.

Police say Richard Peters, 37, tried to abduct two young girls at Reed Park in west Tulsa Saturday night.

The 13-year-old and 11-year-old say when Peters approached them, they tried to run away, but he chased after them.

Peters allegedly caught up to the girls and hit both of them.

Police say Peters then sexually assaulted the 13-year-old.

A witness stepped in to help after hearing the girls’ screams.

He was able to apprehend the suspect until police arrived.

Peters was taken to jail and the two girls were taken to the hospital.
