SLIDELL, Louisiana - It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that folks who choose to wear only their birthday suits, burn easier than those who don man-made clothing.

Just northeast of New Orleans, some folks at Indian Hills Nudist Park are offering a "revealing" look at how they're keeping cool in the intense July heat.

Wearing nothing more than a smile, nudists tell WDSU News that they are all too familiar with sunburns in places most of the population would never experience.

"The first time you burn any of those parts, you don't forget it," said Tracia Kraemer with Indian Hills Nudist Park.

That's why, members are taking a break from naked karaoke and bare-bottomed bird feeding to spend several hours each day in the pool.

Every hour, the park is offering free sunscreen to its members - and with so much skin to cover, that's quite an investment!

The park is also passing out ice-cold pickles to restore electrolytes, popsicles, and watermelon.

The park owners say, though maybe a little sunburned, their members are confident, accepting, and very kind people.

"Like the wife says, 'It's real hard to be mean when you're naked,'" said Patrick Kraemer.
