LAWTON, Okla. – Police in Lawton arrested a convicted sex offender who was wanted for violating parole in New York.

Authorities with the Lawton Police Department were called by officials in New York, who said a wanted sex offender was living in Oklahoma.

Officials learned that Peter Green was wanted on a parole violation and he was classified as a sexually violent offender and predicate sex offender.

Green was convicted in 2011 for first-degree sexual abuse after prosecutors say he had sexual contact with a victim who was under the age of 11-years-old.

Investigators learned that Green was using the name Damel Burton.

He was quickly arrested by officers with the police department and the U.S. Marshall’s office.

Authorities say Green was booked into the Lawton City Jail and will be transferred to the Comanche County Detention Center to await extradition to New York.

Green will also be facing charges of failure to register as a sex offender and identity theft.
