OKLAHOMA CITY - If you want to surprise your family with a summer treat, a simple and delicious peach pie may just do the trick.

  • 3-4 large peaches
  • One 8-9in frozen pie crust or buttery patry
  • 1/3 cup and 1/4 cup of orange juice
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 4 tbsp of bourbon or whiskey
  • 1/4 cup of raisins
  • 2 tbsp dark or light brown sugar
  • Pinch of salt

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Make a shallow cross cut on the bottom of each peach and drop them into boiling water for 25 seconds. Drain on a paper towel and remove the peel.

Cut the peaches into wedges and combine with 1/3 cup of orange juice. Toss and then drain, then place the peaches into defrosted pie crust. Fold the edges of the pie crust into the pan.

The added crust will make it easier to cut later. Place the peaches inside in a spiral pattern and add raisins.

Bake for 20 minutes.

While the pie is baking, add the additional juice, cinnamon, bourbon, cornstarch and brown sugar. Let it thicken and then add to the top of the pie.
