OKLAHOMA CITY – Nothing compares to the magic in the eyes of children during the holiday season. These two recipes are perfect gifts or treats, and are designed to include the little ones in the magic of the season.

White Chocolate Mint Muddy Buddies

10-12 oz white chocolate chips
1 C crushed candy canes
5 C Chex Rice cereal
1 C powdered (confectioners) sugar

Place cereal in mixing bowl.
Microwave chips until smooth and melted; I suggest 50 seconds on high power, stir, then 20 second intervals, stirring between intervals until smooth.
Fold melted chocolate into cereal, folding until evenly and thoroughly coated.
Fold crushed peppermint into coated cereal until evenly distributed.
Place 1 C powdered sugar into 1 gallon zip bag. Add coated cereal, zip closed and shake until sugar coats each piece of cereal. Open bag and allow to rest a few minutes.
Will keep 2 weeks sealed, at room temperature.

Chocolate Dipped Peppermint Sticks

Peppermint stick candy (I like Bob’s sticks – any stick candy will work) 6-8oz semi-sweet or white chocolate chips
Optional: Crushed hard candy, colored sprinkles, colored sugar

In microwave, melt dipping chocolate in mug or other taller container. (30 seconds on high power, stir, repeat in 15 second intervals, stirring between intervals until smooth and melted) Tilt dipping container to pool chocolate on one side. Insert peppermint stick and roll in chocolate until coated to desired length, leaving top uncoated to “hold” stick. Shake off excess chocolate.
Sprinkle with optional candy garnish while chocolate is still warm. Place upright, at an angle, in glass or solo cup and allow chocolate to harden.
