SCOTLAND – It’s not the famous Japanese Kobe beef but Waygu beef is some of the most expensive beef in the world.
A 2-day-old calf is making history as one of Scotland’s prized possessions.
In 2011 a husband-and-wife team bought Japanese Waygu cattle and embryos from Australia in an attempt to make a cross-breed Scottish cow.
They said to improve the fertility rates, they have their cattle on a strict regimen.
Their somewhat unorthodox methods, which include music and mood lighting, have raised a few eyebrows in this small Scottish community.
After almost three years, the cows are expected to be sold for more than $11,000.
