OKLAHOMA CITY – Authorities say one person is being treated for injuries after a piece of equipment caught fire when it connected with power lines on the city’s southeast side.
Firefighters were called to the area of S.E. 31st St. and Hattie, near S.E. 29th and I-35, after receiving reports of a lift on fire.
Authorities were also told that the lift may have come in contact with some power lines in the area.
Crews from OG&E were called to the scene to shut down the electricity to the lines.
EMSA paramedics were also called to the scene.
Authorities say one person was injured in the accident.
Reports are that the man that was injured jumped off the lift falling nearly 30 feet.
At this time, officials with EMSA say the patient is listed in good condition.
Officials were able to get the fire under control quickly.
Reports say that the rubber from the lift’s tires melted to the ground.
