OKLAHOMA CITY – Two employees from Oklahoma City Community College have resigned following an investigation into the Adult Basic Education Program.
Officials say they opened an investigation after learning about allegations of wrongdoing in the ABE program.
During the course of the administrative investigation, two employees resigned.
Tina Azarate, coordinator of Adult Learning Center, resigned effective Nov. 8 and Gloria Torres, acting director of Community Outreach and Education, resigned effective Nov. 18.
School officials say the administrative investigation is complete, but other law enforcement agencies, including the Office of the Inspector General, is has an open criminal investigation.
Officials say the full details of the administrative investigation will be released once the criminal investigation is complete.
However, they say no Title IV funds, credit courses or academic programming were involved.
Initially, there were allegations involving altering grades and inflating enrollment numbers, which would lead to more funding from grants.
