One of the most unique aircraft in the history of the American military is going on display at the U.S. air force museum.

The CV-22 osprey, capable of vertical takeoff, hover, and vertical landing was designed for use by special operations forces.

It combines helicopter-like qualities with those of longer range aircraft.

The Osprey was built by Bell Helicopter Textron and Boeing.

The first operational CV-22 was delivered to the air force in November 2006.
