Deadly accident brings rush hour traffic to a halt

Update: 7/3 8:00 p.m. – Authorities say

OKLAHOMA CITY –  Emergency crews responded to an injury accident in N.E. Oklahoma City Thursday afternoon.

Crews responded just before 4 p.m. on I-35 and Wilshire Blvd

Authorities say Kent Thionnet, 56, was driving his motorcycle on I-35 when traffic slowed due to congestion.

When he began to break, he went off the road and hit a cable barrier support post.

He died at the scene from head and neck injuries.

According to officials, the cause of the collision was driving at unsafe speeds for traffic conditions.
