Update: 9/26/2014 – The boyfriend of a murdered Chickasha woman allegedly confessed to police he killed her while she slept.
Officials say 31-year-old Lofton Gray Jr. admitted he shot his girlfriend, 24-year-old Amanda Cecil, inside their home while she slept.
He allegedly told detectives he did it because she refused to let him move back to California.

CHICKASHA, Okla. – A man wanted in connection to his girlfriend’s death was extradited to Oklahoma this week.
Last month, 24-year-old Amanda Cecil’s body was found in a home.
The Chickasha Police Department and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation were investigating Cecil’s death as a possible homicide.
Shortly after she was found, authorities began searching for her boyfriend, 31-year-old Lofton Gray Jr., to see if he could provide them with information as to what may have happened to Cecil.
A few days later, Gray was found in a New Mexico hospital. Authorities say he had been involved in a road rage incident.
He was booked into a New Mexico jail after he was released from the hospital.
This week Gray was extradited to Oklahoma and booked into the Grady County Detention Center in Chickasha.
He was extradited on the charges of Larceny of a Motor Vehicle and Attempted Larceny of a Motor Vehicle.
Today he was also charged with Murder in the First Degree.
Authorities say they are still investigating Cecil’s death.
